File Access

When you open a Markdown file with Skill Reader, macOS grants the app temporary permission to read that specific file. This access is:

  • Used solely to render the file for you to read or edit
  • Processed entirely on your Mac
  • Never transmitted over the internet
  • Revocable at any time through macOS Settings

Data Storage

Any preferences you configure in Skill Reader (such as theme, window size, or default-handler settings) are stored locally on your Mac using macOS's built-in storage mechanisms. This data is:

  • Stored only on your Mac
  • Not accessible to us
  • Deleted when you uninstall the app

Third-Party Services

Skill Reader does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data.

External Links

Markdown files may contain links or references to external resources (images, websites). When you click such a link, Skill Reader hands the URL over to your default web browser. We do not track clicks or requests made from those links.

Children's Privacy

Skill Reader does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not collect any personal information from any user.
